Security and Compliance
Built up over the past decade,
our team's security experience is extensive, covering a broad range of
security technologies and issues, including Network Access Control (NAC),
network security, network forensics, intrusion detection software (IDS),
distributed denials of service (DDoS), worms and firewalls, biometrics,
homeland security and regulatory compliance.
And we have a successful track record of working with national and trade
media, product reviewers and industry analysts on behalf of clients like
Mantas, Reveleus, Bradford Networks, ControlPath, Oversight Systems, Vericept
Corp., Q1 Labs, VistaScape Security Systems, and Sandstorm Enterprises.
Our team also has experience going back a decade, when we worked with
Internet Security Systems (ISS).
We understand trends in the security sector, and use that to help our
clients. Regulatory compliance and standards have become a significant
security and risk management issue, and we are helping clients communicate
important messages about Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Health Insurance Portability
and Accountability Act (HIPPA), Gramm-Leach-Bliley (GLB), Markets in Financial
Instruments Directive (MiFID) and other regulatory issues. Once seen as
a tactical play, security is now moving up the corporate ranks, and is
increasingly perceived to be part of risk management.
For Mantas, we're helping reposition the company beyond its award-winning
anti money laundering (AML) and anti-Identity Theft solutions into new
sectors and geographies. We've arranged interviews and coverage in key
trade publications including BaselAlert, US Banker, International Banking
Systms Journal, Banking Technology, OpRisk & Compliance,
and others.
We're helping Reveleus, a global provider of analytical applications
for the financial services industry covering risk management, customer
insight, and enterprise financial performance, to address the latest risk
management approach, Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), secuding
coverage in STPzone, OpRisk & Compliance, Dark Reading,
and others.
For ControlPath, we have launched the latest version of its flagship
product, ControlPath Compliance Suite 3.0, handling communications as
the company was spun out from its parent, Accuvant, an elite provider
of information security and regulatory compliance solutions and services.
ControlPath Compliance Suite 3.0 can save enterprises as much as 90 percent
over the cost of manual compliance processes by automating the laborious
tasks of complying with regulations such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX),
Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), Federal Information Systems Management
Act (FISMA), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA),
and numerous standards. We've secured coverage in Network World, Financial
Executive, SC Magazine, IT Audit, Rocky Mountain News, Denver Post, Denver
Business Journal, BankInfoSecurity, Line 56, CSO, Dow Jones VentureWire,
CIO India, International Banking Systems Journal, CRM Buyer,
Banking Wire, Network Security, and others.
For Bradford Networks, a provider of comprehensive network access control
(NAC) solutions, we're helping them expand beyond into new markets, with
the launch of NAC Director, a mature solution designed for the corporate
environment that is based on Bradford's Campus Manager, which has more
than 250 customers, whose networks have more than 500,000 students.
Because enterprise security is a crowded field, an essential part of
the NAC Director launch was creating significant industry analyst support.
Targetting the top 10 security and general analyst firms, over three months
Bradford briefed every one, including analysts from Gartner, Forrester,
Security Incite, and Enterprise Strategy Group. Bolstered by positive
comments from the analysts, Bradford validated its product positioning,
refined its messages, and landed key support. At the time of the product
launch, Bradford sent prospects and press to Gartner, Forrester, IDC,
and Enterprise Strategy Group.
The result: We secured very positive coverage for NAC Director, launched
in Jan. 2007, with coverage that includes CRN, Network World, eWeek,
Campus Technology, Datamation and others.
We helped Vericept, the leading provider of Intelligent Compliance and
Content Protection Solutions, prepare for a product launch, wrote and
placed bylined articles, secured speaking opportunities and generated
coverage.
We helped VistaScape successfully package a pilot program of the company's
perimeter security technology at Boston's Logan Airport to the business
and consumer media. Our efforts generated coverage in Business Week,
Associated Press, UPI, Boston Globe, Boston Herald, CNN Headline
News, all the local TV affiliates and many local papers.
For Q1 Labs, a developer of network security intelligence solutions,
we helped launch the next version of its flagship QVISION 2.0. We generated
trade news and product review coverage, scoring an Information Security
"Hot Pick" for the product. We also supported Q1 Labs' announcement of
its series B round. Our VC Announcement Scorecard™ enabled us to quickly
develop a strategic plan and timeline that maximized the impact of Q1's
news, generating more than 30 articles in the Boston Globe, Wall Street
Journal, New York Times' "Deal Book," Daily Deal, Venture
Reporter, eWeek and others.
Working with Oversight Systems, a developer whose products offer real-time
compliance monitoring, we developed messaging and positioning, and are
providing ongoing strategic counsel. We are working to raise the company's
visibility among key constituents. For example, we secured speaking opportunities
for CEO Patrick Taylor at a number of industry conferences, including
ACFE Fraud Conference & Exhibition, Institute of Internal Auditors: Emerging
Trends & Leading Practices, and North America Fraud Conference. We have
placed bylined articles about key issues in publications that include:
Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance Journal, the Corporate Counselor and
Internal Auditing Magazine. We have helped the company leverage
two surveys it conducted into national coverage; in 2005, its survey regarding
SOX Section 404 was quoted in Congress to show that a majority of financial
executives actually support SOX.
For Sandstorm, we launched a new version of NetIntercept at RSA, an important
trade show. We generated coverage with key trade publications, including
Bank Security News, InformationWeek and Federal Computing Week.
And for ISS, now part of IBM after a $1.3 billion acquisition in 2006,
our experience includes communications programs targeting business media,
trade press and product reviewers; we supported new products; managed
communications for acquisitions; responded to breaking news about worms
and hackers; and enhanced the company's leadership position in a category
crowded by much larger competitors. For ISS, we secured coverage in top-tier
business publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York
Times, Washington Post, USA Today, Business Week, Associated Press,
Bloomberg, Dow Jones, and CNN Headline News.
